Membership of the Buy New Zealand Made Campaign is going from strength to strength.
Since the Government-backed funding (promoting locally made products) was announced, there has been an 18% increase in membership numbers and added use of the iconic kiwi-in-the-triangle signage.
Campaign chairman Garry Ward has welcomed the trend.
“We were aware that there would be an amount of publicity surrounding the initiatives and we’re pleased at the outcome in terms of membership,” he said.
“There is significant benefit to New Zealand manufacturers in becoming part of an organisation that promotes the value of New Zealand-made goods.
“Next year’s activities will also include the publishing of a guide on what’s made locally, who makes it, and where the goods can be purchased.
“The concept has worked remarkably well in Australia and we believe that Kiwis will embrace it just as enthusiastically.”
