Kiwis Have Healthy Body Image
Summer is here! Think cool drinks on long hot summer days and er…the chance to show our white wobbly bits on the beach. Who really looks forward to that? Well apparently we do!
Yes according to the latest independent research commissioned by Vibex Exercise Studio’s in the Vibex Exercise Studio’s Annual Best Body Survey 72% of us are happy with our bodies!
The research conducted by Consumer Link (a division of Colmar Brunton) showed that despite heavy publicity on rising obesity rates New Zealanders are quite happy with the way we look thank you very much!
Nearly three quarters of those surveyed indicated they were happy with their body shape.
Men seemed to be particularly confident with 81% saying they were happy, women were slightly lower but still weighed in at a healthy 65%!
Those happiest with their body shape were aged 13-29 (84% were happy with their body shape) with those least happy aged 40-49 (one in three of those aged 40-49 said they were unhappy with their body shape)..
The Vibex research also showed that ‘Dancing with the Stars’ darling and new mum Bernice Mene had the best body with TVNZ personalities Sally Ridge and Jo Cotton also rating popular mentions.
When it came to international celebrities it seemed that Nicole Kidman was most favoured.
New Zealand males rated Nicole’s body the most admirable with Tomb Raider’s Angelina Jolie second followed by Jennifer Aniston and Charlize Theron third equal.
Nicole was more popular with the older age groups whereas Angelina rated highest with those aged 15-29.
Vibex is the latest in vibration exercise with a ‘no men, no mirrors, no sweat’ philosophy.
