InterCity boosts services for Big Day Out

InterCity boosts services for Big Day Out

InterCity is adding 500 seats to its North Island services to Auckland on Thursday January 18 and Friday January 19, as a result of the demand by travellers heading to the sold-out Big Day Out event this coming Friday.

Sales and Marketing Manager for InterCity Group Limited, Daniel Rode, said InterCity is providing 10 additional buses to its regular services and will continue to add more seats if the heavy demand continues.

“The demand for seats to Auckland from around the North Island has been particularly high for this year’s Big Day Out event. We have provided additional seats to our services to ensure people who have bought tickets to the popular event have access to convenient and reliable public transport to and from Auckland,” he said.

The Big Day Out is an all-day event being held at Mt Smart Stadium in Penrose.

The additional InterCity services can be booked through more than 600 agents throughout New Zealand. Check out www.intercity.co.nz to book online or check the local white pages for your nearest agent.

InterCity Coachlines carries 1.2 million passengers nationwide each year and operates over 140 daily services to more than 600 towns, cities and communities.
