Australia Day Boost to NZ Sale
Australia Day Boost to NZ Sale
A half-sister to Superfly,
yesterday's winner of the Listed Widden Stakes (1100m) at
Randwick, is set to be offered for sale at Karaka on Monday.
The two-year-old Rock of Gibraltar filly, trained by
David Hayes, proved too strong for her rivals, on this her
fourth raceday outing.
Her half-sister by Fusaichi Pegasus, sire of yesterday's Listed Zedative Stakes winner, Haradasun, is set to be offered at Lot 32 of New Zealand Bloodstock's National Yearling Sales by Curraghmore Stud. The filly is the third foal from Hennessy mare, Allez France, herself a Listed winner at two.
Curraghmore Stud's Karaka draft also received a timely boost with Encosta de Lago hitting the top of the Australian Sires Tables following the first and third placings of Cecconi and Encosta Don in the Arrowfield Stud Blue Diamond Prelude (1000m) at Caulfield. Encosta de Lago is represented by 13 yearlings next week at Karaka, with ten yearlings in the Curraghmore Stud draft including a colt from Group 1 performer, Citirecruit (Lot 95), and a filly from Listed winner in Ireland, Miss Helga (Lot 280).
The New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales Series starts at 11am on Monday 29 January at Karaka. For news and sales information, please contact Marketing Manager, Petrea Vela (petrea@nzb.co.nz).
