CourierPost delivers Fly Buys to small businesses

NEWS RELEASE

CourierPost delivers Fly Buys to small businesses

CourierPost has joined forces with one of New Zealand’s best-known brands, Fly Buys, to increase its share of the competitive small-business sector.

From 1 February, CourierPost will be offering Fly Buys points to qualifying small business customers. It is the first time a courier company has been part of the Fly Buys programme and represents an exclusive relationship with CourierPost.

CourierPost’s National Sales and Marketing Manager, Alan Piper, says the partnership with Fly Buys will help CourierPost increase its share of the small-business sector.

“Small businesses tend to be fairly high-churn and there’s intense competition among courier companies to dominate this space. Fly Buys is a pretty special incentive for our customers to stay loyal and we’re sure we’ll attract significant new business in this sector for the long-term as well.

“The Fly Buys opportunity will be exclusively offered to CourierPost’s small to medium business customers. It is a great way for us to reward our small business customers.” says Alan.

CourierPost held a Roadshow over January to present the initiative to the entire CourierPost business. Alan says the response from their couriers has been overwhelming.

“They see it as a way not only to generate loyalty among their existing small business customers, but as a great opening to talk with potential customers currently using another courier company.

“Fly Buys is a perfect conversation starter.”

Originally a loyalty programme designed for retail, Fly Buys has recently been embraced by small business. Now in its 11th year, Fly Buys has seven Participant companies which offer goods and services to small businesses, rather than consumers.

The Fly Buys programme has a range of rewards specifically suited for its small business members, reflecting the growth of the category.

Fly Buys General Manager, Peter Monk, says CourierPost is a valuable addition to the Fly Buys family.

“Fly Buys is constantly evolving to meet the needs of both our Participant companies and our Members. CourierPost is a great partner for Fly Buys and we’re sure the couriers will enjoy being able to offer Fly Buys points to their customers.”

Currently three out of every four households in New Zealand has a Fly Buys card. Per head of population that’s more members than any other equivalent loyalty programme in the world.

Members can choose from more than 500 product rewards and New Zealanders have redeemed over three million Fly Buys rewards.

Fly Buys has influenced $40 billion in retail spending – the amount that New Zealanders have purchased from Fly Buys Participant companies in conjunction with their Fly Buys card.

CourierPost’s vehicles and couriers will carry Fly Buys branding from 1 February, when the initiative is launched. The message from CourierPost is simple, Fly Buys is about giving small businesses big rewards.
