Argent Deploys Billing Solution in Liberia

MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Argent Rolls Out Converged Billing & Gprs For Liberia On Huawei

Argent Networks Deploys Billing Solution in Liberia on Huawei Network

Auckland, 9 February 2007 – Leading technology and telecommunications solutions company, Argent Networks, today announced that it has deployed its Eclipse real-time data billing solution to Libercell, Liberia’s national telecommunications provider.

ArgentEclipse™ is a fully convergent solution and will provide Libercell with prepaid and post-paid billing, single rating and CRM to mobile, fixed line, and value-added next generation services and will operate on a network supplied by Huawei Technologies.

ArgentEclipse™ will have dual interconnects to both the existing Ericsson MSC and the new Huawei MSC providing 2.75G Edge billing for real-time convergent prepaid and postpaid subscribers using the ArgentEclipse unified rating engine.

Larry Barker, CEO of Argent Networks says that with more than five times the number of mobile phones to fixed lines and increasingly more convergent data being used by Libercell’s many customers, Liberia is set to continue its rapid growth in its telecommunications networks.

“The ArgentEclipse™ real-time data billing solution will be rolled out across all of Libercell’s mobile, broadband, and next-generation network (NGN) services based on a Huawei platform,” says Barker.

Barker says that Huawei, China’s leading state-owned carrier provides next generation telecommunications networks, and has built the platform for Liberia’s telecommunication infrastructure to expand on the current Ericsson network.

“We have worked with Huawei elsewhere in the world including Africa and they are a leading telecommunications player with a commitment to building innovative and customised network products so we’re sure the deployment of Argent’s IN SCP and real-time data billing for Libercell will provide Liberia with a solution that will create long-term value.”
