Sofitel Queenstown’s popular SoSki programme back

Media Release from Sofitel Queenstown
February 19 2007

Sofitel Queenstown’s popular SoSki programme back for 2007

Sofitel Queenstown’s innovative SoSki luxury winter season programme is back by popular demand for 2007.

Designed specifically for the five-star hotel’s ski and snowboarding guests, it provides them with intuitive and thoughtful ‘value-added’ services that rated highly with guests in 2006.

“The feedback we had last year was amazing,” said Sofitel Queenstown General Manager Mark Wilkinson. “It definitely ranks us as the ski hotel of choice in the Queenstown luxury market.”

The new SoSki programme will start on July 1 and will be run by a dedicated Ski Concierge who will assist with all things ‘ski and snow’. Unique services include ski and board boot fitting while supping on a warming glass of Central Otago pinot, all equipment hire, lift passes and transfers.

The programme also offers fully escorted Premium Ski Days with Sofitel ‘Boutique Ski Experience’ hosts.

“The ski and board fitting with a glass of pinot in hand was a huge hit," said Mr Wilkinson. "More than 50% of our ski or snowboarding guests took advantage of this truly unique and personalised level of service."

During the 2007 winter season a ‘SoSki Hour’ for house guests will be held every evening in cosy Nue Lounge, between 6pm and 7pm.

The SoSki Hour will be hosted by the Sofitel Ski Concierge and will feature complimentary mulled wine and canapés every evening. Complimentary programme activities will include head and shoulders massages, live entertainment, taste sensations from Sofitel Queenstown Executive Chef Darren Clements and the extra special happy hour ‘Salute to Sophie’.

Up to date weather reports and ski conditions will be available to guests via e-texts (at guest approval) via dialing an in-room ‘Snow-Phone’ and on guest room televisions.

Special Sofitel touches such as SoSki handwarmers with the evening turndown service highlight the hotel’s spirit of generosity, and every guest will receive a SoSki welcome pack detailing the nightly SoSki hour, trail maps of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, a SoSki lip balm and details of ‘specials’ in the outstanding Vie restaurant.
