Response to Air New Zealand's announcement regarding flights to Vancouver

"It is a fantastic move by Air New Zealand to start flying directly into Vancouver and one that will be well received by the New Zealand public.
Not only will it encourage more Kiwis to explore Canada and North America, it will be a significant boost to inbound tourism for New Zealand.
We have seen New Zealanders take advantage of the flights into San Francisco and I have no doubt the same trend will occur with people utilising the Vancouver flight as a direct way into Canada and the Northern parts of America and Alaska. We see it very much as an all year round destination with places such an Banff, Whistler and into Alaska being popular in the winter and the Rockies and wildlife attracting people in the spring and summer months. Of course many cruises depart from Vancouver and also Anchorage in Alaska which will also be a drawcard."
