Briscoe Group chooses SAP

NZX listed retailer Briscoe Group Limited (NZX: BGR) has selected SAP and CIBER Novasoft to deliver a new business system platform, NovaRetail, based on the SAP for Retail software solution.

“Our company sought an affordable, top value solution for better managing inventory, replenishment and promotional activities,” says Geoff Scowcroft, Chief Financial Officer of Briscoe Group. “SAP represents the best fit for us, and we are looking forward to building a long term relationship with CIBER Novasoft, which is quickly establishing a strong local presence, leveraging its international retail experience as well as SAP’s global expertise.”

Based on SAP for Retail, NovaRetail is a fully integrated and pre-configured packaged solution from CIBER Novasoft designed specifically for midsize retail organisations. It includes SAP’s mySAP ERP platform and SAP for Retail industry solution, implementation services, training and future application support as a packaged solution offering.

The first stage of the project began at the start of this year with financials (accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger) due to be implemented by July. This will be followed by a ‘live’ trial, involving selected suppliers, of the more complex inventory and merchandising system implementation. The new solution will integrate with existing point of sale software. The project is expected to span two years so all brands operated by Briscoe Group can be integrated under the new system.
