Business Council Elections
The
New Zealand Europe Business Council elected the following at
its AGM on 28 February held at the British
Consulate-General, Auckland.
• Peter Kiely, Hon. Consul
of the Republic of Slovakia, was elected President for the
coming year.
• Monique Surges, Director of the NZ
German Business Assn was elected Vice-President, and timely
with Germany currently having the EU Presidency.
• Gerard Blokker, President Netherlands NZ Business
Assn was elected Secretary / Treasurer.
The other sitting
executive committee members were re-elected as
follows:
• Giampietro Fren, Exec Member of the Italian
Chamber of Commerce in NZ
• Patricia Thake, Hon.
Consul of Malta
• Andrew Williams, Trade Commissioner
& Hon. Vice Consul, Belgium (Past President)
A new member of the executive was elected and welcomed to the committee, John Waugh, British Hon. Consul-General and Director of UK Trade and Invest.
The NZ Europe Business Council
promotes closer economic co-operation between New Zealand
and Europe. It provides a forum for the coordination of
activities of various business councils/associations, trade
organisations, diplomatic missions and consular
representatives from European countries.
