More judges rate C.J. Pask Declaration
the best
Yet another judging panel rated wines from
C.J. Pask’s Declaration range the best. C.J. Pask
Declaration Cabernet Merlot Malbec 2004 won the trophy for
best Cabernet dominant blend at the Royal Easter Wine Show.
The results were announced on Saturday evening at a Black Tie Gala Dinner in Auckland.
In awarding this trophy, the judges confirmed the decision of the Wine & Spirits Asia Challenge, who last year named the same wine Best New World Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Royal Easter Show judges not only awarded the trophy and gold medal to the 2004 vintage, but also adjudged the 2005 vintage of this wine worthy of a gold medal. Three other C.J. Pask wines from the 2005 vintage won silver medals – the Malbec, Merlot and Syrah.
These
medals are the latest in what can be considered a triumphant
march for the
C.J. Pask Declaration wine range. Since
2005, the range has won 11 gold, in many cases winning the
category trophies as well.
“The fact that so many judges in so many competitions have rated our wines so highly is a clear indication that C.J. Pask is one of New Zealand’s very best producers,” says managing director and chief winemaker Kate Radburnd.
The latest medals were all for red wines and C.J. Pask is rightly recognised as one of New Zealand’s top red wine producers. However, the Declaration Chardonnay has also been a regular award and gold medal winner in recent years, proving that the winemaker’s hands-on approach yields outstanding results with white wines too.
“All these awards give assurance to both domestic and international wine buyers that they always get the very best quality with C.J. Pask,” says Ms Radburnd.
