Weston Option Information Sheets about Ngapara coal pit and Windsor sand pit
Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd will distribute this weekend (31 March and 1 April) nearly 8000 copies each of two new Weston Option information sheets: one on the Ngapara coal pit and the other on the Windsor sand pit. The sheets will go to residents of Oamaru, Weston, Enfield, Ngapara, Windsor and surrounding areas, continuing Holcim's practice of providing information to the community as it becomes available.
Information Sheet No. 14 covers the Windsor sand pit (west of Windsor) which would provide a supplementary silica source needed for the raw mix for the production of cement at the proposed Weston Option cement plant.
Information Sheet No. 15 covers the Ngapara coal pit (east of Ngapara), which would provide the coal required for use as fuel in the production of cement at the proposed Weston Option cement plant.
