GEON To Build ‘Super-Facility’ For Printing And Mailing Services

Auckland, 3rd April, 2007: End-to-end printing services provider GEON Group today announced that it has commissioned the construction of a purpose-built printing facility in Auckland, to deliver best-of-breed printing and mailing services to New Zealand businesses from one single location. The prestigious 11,000 sqm premises, which merges the Auckland facilities of GEON companies Brebner Print and BPG (Business Printing Group) at a brand new site, is scheduled for completion in December of this year.

GEON’s new purpose-built, offset printing facility, situated within the world-class Highbrook Business Park 15 minutes from Auckland’s CBD, will be fully equipped to manage customers’ printing requirements from the initial digital files, pre-press, printing and post-print services through to mailing services, warehousing on-site for customers and pick & pack logistics.

Furthermore, customers will benefit from the time and cost savings typically associated with a single site process, including the major advantage of not having to freight orders for various finishing operations. The GEON facility’s prime location, directly opposite New Zealand Post’s major distribution centre, provides added benefits in terms of time savings and convenience for mailing orders.

Gordon Towell, Group Chief Executive, GEON Group said “The merger was an important step towards enabling the Group to provide customers with a broader product and service offering. The ‘one-stop-stop’ operation will be one of a kind in New Zealand which will allow GEON Group to manage its customers’ critical information from disk to distribution, protecting the brand throughout each individual process and ensuring a level of quality and consistency that is unmatched in the printing marketplace”.

The new business will be managed by Andrew Durrans, Group General Manager New Zealand. It is anticipated that all employees from Brebner Print and BPG will transfer to the combined operation at Highbrook Business Park.
