Meet Your Maker - and Enjoy the
Experience
Unique & Boutique Vineyards of
Martinborough
A number of winemakers in Martinborough have joined forces to promote the high quality, but often hard to find, handcrafted wines made by the smaller, family operated vineyards in Martinborough. The ‘Unique & Boutique Vineyards of Martinborough’ represent 16 of the smaller producers in the region. “Our group of vineyards are supporting the overall quality but adding immense variety and interest to Martinborough as a wine making region.” says Kaye McAulay, co-owner of Vynfields
A showcase of over 40 individual wines produced by these vineyards is being held at The Boatshed, Taranaki Street Wharf, Wellington on Wednesday 2nd May and Thursday 3rd May from 5.00 – 8.00 pm with a Trade tasting during the day on Wednesday.
This ‘Meet Your Maker – and enjoy the experience’ event gives the public and members of the trade the opportunity to taste the wine and meet the hands-on makers of the wine, whilst enjoying sumptuous Wairarapa food from Providore along with music by Charmaine Ford’s jazz trio.
The makers on hand include Alexander Vineyard, Ashwell Vineyard, Cabbage Tree Vineyard, Coney Wines, Croft Wines, Haythornthwaite Vineyard, Hudson Vineyard, Julicher Estate, Murdoch James, Oak House, Pond Paddock, Schubert, Te Hera Estate, Tirohana Estate, Tiwaiawaka and Vynfields.
The all inclusive tickets to the event cost only $35.00 pp and are proving so popular that Wednesday night has already sold out. Tickets are still available for the Thursday night but are selling fast.
