Travel Agent Welcomes Increased Domestic Competition
The announcement of plans for a new low cost domestic carrier, Kiwijet, is welcomed by one of New Zealand’s leading travel agents.
Flight Centre executive general manager Rick Hamilton said the additional airline would not only be a positive for New Zealand tourism, but also make it easier for customers in Dunedin and Invercargill to get to larger ports for international holidays.
“More competition in any market can only be a good thing for consumers, and we hope to see increased availability and lower fares as a result” said Mr Hamilton.
The domestic services between Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill are due to start in December this year.
