Award Winners’ Solid Gold Connections
Coming a close second on the heart rate monitor at this week’s Wellington Region Gold Awards were the staff of Positively Wellington Business, who had worked in one way or another with nearly half of the 39 finalists and three of the winners.
Positively Wellington Business (PWB), the region’s economic development agency, worked with 18 of the finalists to help them access grants, hire skilled migrants, partner with investors, work in a business cluster or use another of PWB’s services.
“We were thrilled when Serco Project Engineering Ltd, Robinson Roglider Seismic Isolation, and Dr Alex Malahoff, chief executive of GNS Science, were named winners,” says Suse Reynolds, PWB’s general manager for investment.
“But, as sponsors of the Gold Awards, we cheered all finalists and winners, because Wellington’s many world-class businesses absolutely deserve this recognition and celebration of their contribution to our region.”
Suse Reynolds says PWB’s own heart-stopping moment is coming up at the end of this month when, on 31 May, the results of the Vero Awards for Excellence in Business Support are made known. PWB is a finalist in the local government category.
