FCANZ Inaugural Annual General Meeting

May 23, 2007

Fencing Contractors Association of New Zealand Inaugural Annual General Meeting

The Fencing Contractors Association of New Zealand (FCANZ) is holding its inaugural Annual General Meeting this Saturday 26 May, at Rydges Hotel and Resorts in Rotorua.

FCANZ, which now has 177 members, was launched in February 2006 to recognise fencing as a professional trade and consequently encourage a high level of workmanship through training and standards.

Mavis Mullins, co-director of Paewai Mullins Shearing Limited, will feature as the guest speaker at the meeting. Mavis is well-qualified to offer business advice, winning the 2005 Maori Sports Administrator of the Year for Shearing and Woolhandling Award. She has also previously been named Maori Business Woman of the Year.

Chairman of FCANZ, Simon Fuller, is delighted with the response from the New Zealand fencing industry towards FCANZ since its inception and is looking forward to meeting all the members who are travelling from around New Zealand to make the meeting.

“Membership has steadily increased during the past year which is fantastic for the fencing industry to have a supported recognised industry association. It’s great to see so many of the fencers coming along to the first meeting to show their support,” he said.

“It’s also fantastic to see a number of fencers’ wives coming along to the event – they play a pivotal role in the business operation so it’s important they are made to feel welcome,” he added.
