Hundreds stream to Small Business Expo
With over 4,500 attendees having pre-registered for this year’s Small Business Expo, the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland are humming with activity today, the expo’s opening day.
Chris Matthews,
principal lecturer at The Open Polytechnic which is
exhibiting at the expo, says there’s a real buzz this year
and excitement on the faces of those attending.
“More so than other years, people are really energised by what they’re seeing,” says Matthews.
Exhibitors have gone all out to make their stands exciting this year, says organiser Sarah Trotman. “There’s a wealth of information, products and services for people who own their own businesses, as well as excellent advice in The National Bank Seminar Series which runs for all three days of the expo.”
Last year over 7,000 business owners visited the Auckland event with attendee numbers expected to eclipse last year’s total. Independent exit data taken by TouchPoll revealed that 96 per cent of attendees surveyed rated their expo visit as excellent, good or satisfactory and 88 per cent said that they would return for the 2007 Small Business Expo.
The Small Business Expo also runs in Wellington (18-20 July) and Christchurch (29-31 August) for the first time this year.
Tickets cost $20 and are available at the door, or via the expo website www.businessexpo.co.nz, and include attendance to all three days of the expo, all exhibition halls, dedicated zones and The National Bank Seminar Series. Visit the website to book free appointments for the Business Brokering Zone and the Vodafone Business Mentoring Zone.
The Auckland Small Business Expo opened at 9am Wednesday 30 May and is open until 4pm Friday 1 June, with a late night to 8pm on Thursday 31 May.
