The convenor of judges, NBR editor in chief Nevil Gibson, said this year’s entries showed Pacific business people were highly effective in delivering results for both public and private sector services.

“The strong showing of health and education providers among the finalists reflects their deep commitment in these areas,” he said. “The quality of some of these enterprises and the executives who run them is credit to the Pacific community. The variety in enterprises from the private sector also shows Pacific people are having a wider impact in the business community.”

The 2007 MIT Pacific Business Awards gala event will be held on Friday 15 June at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau City. This year's MCs will be ONE News Pacific Affairs Reporter, Barbara Dreaver and senior Pacific business consultant, Fa'amatuainu Tino Pereira.
