Nominations open for Auckland TOP SHOP® 2007
The 2007 Auckland TOP SHOP® retail excellence awards are now open for nominations. Consumers from Pukekohe to Orewa can nominate their “top” Auckland shop, and go into the draw to win a $1000 shopping spree at their nominated store.
The Auckland TOP SHOP® retail excellence awards are run by the New Zealand Retailers Association. TOP SHOP® Coordinator Kirsten Kilmister says the competition is about celebrating excellence in the retail sector. “Top Shop is a great opportunity for customers to give recognition back to their favourite stores and say thank you. Thank you for remembering how I like my coffee, thank you for creating a lovely store, thank you for having such a great selection of merchandise and for being so knowledgeable!”
“Retailers that go the extra mile can often be taken for granted, but they are something special and recognising that sets a benchmark for all retailers. The awards help to raise the standard of shopping experiences across the board,” she says.
The eight categories cover most retail store’s business, from food to footwear, health to homeware and specialty stores for those that do not fit into a category. Three special awards are also presented, Start Up Business, Outstanding Customer Service Award and Innovation Excellence in Retail.
The Overall TOP SHOP® winner is chosen from the category winners. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at SKY CITY on Tuesday 30 October.
In 2006 the Overall Auckland TOP SHOP® retail excellence award was presented to Number 18 Hair and Beauty, Herne Bay.
To nominate their favourite store for the Auckland Top Shop Awards, and go in to win the $1000 shopping spree at that store, customers need to fill out the on-line nomination form at www.retail.org.nz or fill out the coupons which will be printed in the Herald and The Aucklander between 11 June and 16 July.
