Saint Clair Comes Out Top In UK

Saint Clair Estate Wines has added another top accolade to its collection following huge success in the UK, the world's most influential wine market.

The Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2006 won the Wairau Valley trophy for top New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at the 2007 London International Wine Challenge*, announced last night at Vinexpo in France. Gold medals were also awarded to Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2006 and Saint Clair Pioneer Block 3 Sauvignon Blanc 2006.

In fact, the new trophy creates a ground breaking total, for the Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, of 26 trophies and 41 gold medals/5 star equivalents since 2000, reinforcing its status as New Zealand's most awarded Sauvignon Blanc.

Neal Ibbotson, owner of Saint Clair Estate Wines comments, Achieving this recognition at the International Wine Challenge* is incredible. It is our mission to produce wines that exceed our customers expectations and these latest awards reinforce that we are on the right path to achieving this.

And, proving the Brits know what they are talking about, the Saint Clair Vicar's Choice Sauvignon Blanc 2006 has just been named as one of the world's best value wines under ‚10 in leading wine magazine, Decanter.

Saint Clair Estate Wines was founded in 1994 and has received a multitude of prestigious awards and trophies from around the world. The company now has six significant regional vineyard sites and excellent knowledge and experience of which varieties grow best at each site. A high-tech, state of the art, winery opened in March 2006, dramatically increasing production capabilities. This family-owned Marlborough winery is experiencing phenomenal success overseas and is now exporting to over 40 international markets.
