Hon Philip Burdon, Chairman of Asia New Zealand Foundation says that the Action Asia Business Summit is the most important event for the country as we stand poised at the cross roads with engaging more effectively with the growing Asian region.

“Action Asia will bring together in one event everything New Zealand organisations and individuals need to know about how to better align and position themselves with the Asian region from business, economic developments like Free Trade Agreements through to better appreciation of the cultural considerations for doing business in Asia,” Mr. Burdon says.

“In addition, the powerful line up of internationally renowned experts on the Asian region will share their enormous practical experience and insights including things to do and avoid, commercial strategies for entering and expanding in Asian markets all told based on real world experience.”

Mr. Burdon says that Action Asia is a critical part of Asia New Zealand’s ongoing dedication to deepen understanding and relationships between New Zealanders and the peoples of Asia, and in educating New Zealanders about these opportunities.

“This Summit will help New Zealand benefit from the transformation of Asia’s economies and prepare us as nation to better act upon and seize the many opportunities that are available in Asia.”

A VIP Gala Dinner will also be held the evening before the Business Summit on Monday 9 July, which boasts a fantastic programme of internationally renowned speakers such as Clyde Prestowitz, Founder of the Economic Strategy Institute and author of Three Billion New Capitalists. He will be travelling from Washington DC, to outline the implications of the “great shift of wealth and power to Asia.”
