New US Distributor For Literacy Resources

New US Distributor For Literacy Resources

Educational publisher Learning Media Limited (LML) has appointed Nelson Education to distribute their literacy resources in the United States.

Nelson Education was established by Learning Media’s Canadian distributor Thomson Nelson Canada.

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better partner for our US business”, said Gillian Candler, Chief Executive of Learning Media. “Thomson Nelson Canada is well resourced, reputable, growth-oriented and successful.”

She said both companies had made a major investment in the new business to achieve growth.

Learning Media had a senior manager based at Thomson Nelson Canada for three months to support the transfer of the business from the previous distributor.

“To be a founding partner in the US business is very positive, it gives us a unique opportunity to develop the business together,” said Ms Candler.

Thomson Nelson Canada and Learning Media have had a successful partnership for the past ten years. They have recently developed three new products: the Dragonflies Literacy series for elementary schools, High Wire for middle schools and Effective Teaching professional texts for teachers.

“Partnering with Learning Media has enabled us to offer a rich portfolio of materials, specifically designed for the US. We really value their commitment to quality in every aspect of development and look forward to working with them to add new products to our range,” said Chris Besse, Thomson Nelson’s vice-president for market development.

Nelson Education will also carry the Orbit, First Stories, Pacific Literacy, New Heights and WRAP brands.

Learning Media’s previous distributor, Pacific Learning, continues to operate in the US but no longer carries Learning Media products.
