air2there.com manager Richard Baldwin says his airline's associated carbon sink forest absorption rate is well ahead of carbon release resulting from its fossil fuel consumption and staff activities.
“Since air2there.com began
scheduled services in late 2004 the airline's rate of carbon
release has been far below that of our associated forest’s
absorption.
“air2there.com doesn't just gas about
carbon and climate change; it takes matters seriously, far
beyond common rhetoric.”
Baldwin also says that alternatives to fossil fuels are being investigated.
“Research is underway on the use of finely
powdered wood products as fuel for turbine engines. This
could be a major aviation advance and directly link our
airline and forest.
“Use of fuel efficient short-hop
aircraft and mopping up carbon released by its activities
are key issues for air2there.com.”
