New Director For China Trade Association
New Zealand China Trade Association (NZCTA) has appointed David Catty to be its Executive Director.
"We have a strong vision to develop the Association to be the most active and influential bilateral trade council in New Zealand" said NZCTA Chairman, Stuart Ferguson.
"With China already our fourth trading partner and the potential for huge growth after the completion of the free trade agreement early next year, it's timely to employ a Director to manage our affairs on a day to day basis and ensure we maximise the potential to add value for our members."
Catty has had substantial experience in international trade and direct involvement as a China trader since his first visit there in 1986. He has been a delegate on three NZCTA Trade Missions to China, most recently, as International Manager at the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, managing the NZCTA led delegation to the 100th Canton Fair in Guangzhou.
"David is no stranger to NZCTA", continued Ferguson, "having been a founder member and having served on the executive on two separate occasions during his long career in international trade."
The Auckland Chamber will continue to provide administrative services to the Association and Catty's appointment takes effect on 1 July 2007.
