Statement on Security Arrangements
6 July 2007
Statement by Solid Energy Chairman, John Palmer
At the Solid Energy Board yesterday directors discussed the company’s security arrangements as requested by the shareholding Minister, the Minister of State Owned Enterprises.
The Board noted that the company had already confirmed to the Minister that the company’s security arrangements now specifically exclude “paid for” informants.
The Board confirmed that it had full confidence in the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Don Elder.
Solid Energy has now met all the shareholder’s requests in relation to security issues. Security arrangements and their associated risks will continue to be a regular part of Board discussions.
