Jade Software Corporation Wins Electricity Commission
Registry Contract
Jade Software Corporation (Jade) announced today that it has won the contract to continue to be the Registry Service Provider for the Electricity Commission, following a competitive tender process for this service.
The Registry Service Provider contract is valued at $2.5 million and is for an initial five year term from the date all systems become operative. There are two options for the Commission to renew the term of the agreement at their sole discretion. Each renewal option is for a further three years.
Under the agreement Jade will continue to provide registry services for the New Zealand Electricity Market, on behalf of the Electricity Commission. Jade has provided this service to the Commission since 1999.
The registry manages information used within the electrical industry reconciliation process for every tradable point of connection on electricity networks in New Zealand,. This includes providing and operating the registry software and communicating with market participants.
The system currently holds information on more than 2 million points of connection within New Zealand. This number is growing by 38,000 new connections a year and the system manages more than 183,000 switches of points of connection between retailers each year.
Gavin Mitchell, Jade’s Head of Marketing, Sales and Channel Management said, “Jade has provided a highly reliable service to the Electricity Commission for the past seven years. We are delighted at the confidence shown by the Commission in awarding this contract. This is a positive endorsement of Jade’s services by a NZ Government Agency.”
