Finalists Found For 10th North Shore Business Awards

A food packaging manufacturer, veterinarian, publisher, marine company, web designer, panelbeater and cleaner, are just some of the wide-ranging businesses that have been selected as finalists for the 10th anniversary Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.

The near-record number of entries has been whittled down to 35 after being put through a rigorous judging process. But it’s not over yet. These finalists will be subjected to scrutiny again as the judges decide on the winners for each of the 12 categories in the Awards and then come up with a supreme winner, to be announced at the end of August.

According to the judging panel, the standard of entries for the 2007 Awards is among the highest they have seen in the ten-year history of the event and they have been impressed with their wide range of business activities.

“Each year we never cease to be amazed at the innovation, skill and excellent work being undertaken by so many businesses on the North Shore,” says Patricia Schnauer, convenor of judges.

“It doesn’t make our job any easier, but it does illustrate the healthy state of the North Shore economy. And we have been particularly impressed by the number of established businesses that are getting in behind the Awards to help make it an even greater success.”

The finalists cover a broad range of sectors including technology, engineering, education, food, tourism & hospitality, marine, service and health & beauty. Several businesses are finalists in more than one category with 26 businesses sharing the top 35 places for the 12 Awards.
