Singapore's Bezurk on list of 31 hottest startups
Business 2.0 Magazine includes Singapore's Bezurk.com on list of "31 of the World's Hottest Startups"
Singapore, 31st July, 2007 - Bezurk.com , the Asia Pacific Travel Search Engine, today announced that Business 2.0 magazine, published by The FORTUNE/MONEY Group of Time Inc., has named Bezurk as one of "31 of the world's hottest startups".
The feature article is headed "It's a Web, Web, Web 2.0 world" and leads in with "Not all of the startup action happens in Silicon Valley. Business 2.0 Magazine picks the top websites outside the U.S. that are changing the world." The list was compiled by Business 2.0 journalists Erick Schonfeld and Yi-Wen Yen. "This year, putting together the map was more an exercise of culling down the candidates than of finding good ones," says Erick Schonfeld in a blog post. "The point was to be selective."
" It's a win-win for Bezurk and travel providers", according to Business 2.0 Magazine because, "Bezurk gets traffic, and (travel) providers build direct relationships with new customers."
"We've assembled a great team in Singapore to apply leading edge technology and an innovative business model to the US$20billion Asia-Pacific online travel market," said Martin Symes, Bezurk CEO. "We're thrilled to be recognised by Business 2.0's as one of the hottest web startups outside the U.S."
Bezurk.com helps people save both time and money when shopping for flights, hotels, activities and travel deals by comparing rates and availability across multiple websites and then linking users into supplier websites to book.
Featured in the article was Bezurk's rich functionality, fat client AJAX interface that makes sorting, filtering and comparing travel products effortless for the end user. It also allows Bezurk to progressively stream search results from each partner straight to the user's browser without having to wait for all partners to finish returning results, delivering a fast and intuitive user experience.
Bezurk was the only Singaporean company featured in this years list.
Business 2.0's "31 of the world's hottest startups" article can be read in the upcoming August 2007 issue of Business 2.0 magazine, and online at: http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/biz2/0707/gallery.web_world.biz2/index.html
