Property With Thousands of Daily Drive-Bys
A makeover may be in store for a high-profile Christchurch site with a proud motoring history.
The site at 471 Colombo Street, in Sydenham by the overbridge, has been a service station, the home of Blackwell’s Holden and, for the past 21 years, the Moore family car dealership.
Marketing agent Rob Logie of Simes Limited says the 2421 square metre site is prime commercial land in two titles with three street frontages, so offers a multitude of opportunities for investors and developers.
“This is an exceptionally high-profile site,” he says. “We know 21,500 cars go past it every day, so whatever happens on this site is noticed.
“It could be the site of another car franchise or dealership, but it may attract a developer who wants to do something new.
“It is a mix of B2 zoning to the Colombo Street frontage and B3 zoning at the rear of the site, which would allow building development of a significant scale, particularly retailing. It has the potential for a single tenant or a multi-tenanted development.”
Tenders close for the site at 4pm Friday August 24.
