NZ Job Expo

How many times have you come home from a bad day at work and wished you could start a new career but don't have the time to go for an interview? So what's stopping you?

The NZ Job Expo held on Auckland’s North Shore in December 2007 is a great solution to a busy lifestyle preventing you from gong to interviews. Gone are the good old days of getting up early and going to the dairy to buy the Herald and start circling jobs before anyone else beat you to it. The internet, whilst fantastic for sending off applications to at least 20 jobs in one swoop, is still not a magic wand; you still have to figure out how to wear your interview outfit to work without your work buddies busting you. And where has the personal touch gone? By the time someone calls you back you’ve forgotten what you applied for anyway.

In one weekend and under one roof New Zealand employers, regions and education services will gather together look for employees who want to either get a new job, up-skill or move out of Auckland for a change of lifestyle. It’s a new and fresh recruiting method based on tried and true principles to help you to meet employers face to face whilst you have the time instead of racing around madly in your lunch hour getting hot in the face.

NZ Job Expo organiser Helen Vincent says “Kiwi employees desperately need another option to find a career. According Statistics NZ there are 165,000 people in NZ who are in employment but looking for another job. We needed to create a platform for these people to be able to get in front of employers whilst juggling a busy work week.” “You just can’t beat being able to talk to a “real” person and ask all of the questions that trawling around the internet would take you all evening to do, and is that before, during or after you’ve cooked dinner, done the dishes and planned what to wear to work the next day?

“We believe passionately in our Expo and do all we can to ensure everyone who attends is successful.” Said Vincent

Exhibitor Matt Jones, Director of Canstaff, said “One of the good things about exhibiting at an expo is the motivation factor of the people who take the time and effort to attend. Other advertising mediums don’t give us the numbers or quality that expos do”

Grab your CV and come to the NZ Job Expo where you can spend all day – all weekend if you like walking around the expo and applying for your dream job at your leisure.
