New Zealand boat seller stars at Sydney show
New Zealand pleasure boat retailer Sports Marine has won the “stand of excellence” at the Sydney International Boat Show.
The biggest show of its type in the Southern Hemisphere, over 300 exhibitors were present at the six-day event.
Ian Williamson, managing director of Sports Marine, said the show had been particularly successful for the company, firstly with the award and also excellent sales.
“We launched our new 235 Rae Line (23.5ft) hard-top which was very successful. The boat was designed and manufactured here in Christchurch. It is a mini cruiser ideal for cooler weather as it is fully enclosed, has a sink, cooker and full toilet and you can easily overnight in it,” he said.
Sports Marine made sales of over $1m and has a significant number of on-water demonstrations booked over the coming weeks to potential purchasers.
“Our Sydney success gives us great confidence for the season ahead, and we could double our Sydney sales with a favourable demonstration programme,” he said.
Sports Marine has outlets in Auckland and Sydney as well as Christchurch.
