(BoTCom) Launches Real Estate Pages

Best of Tauranga Website (BoTCom) Launches Real Estate Pages

To meet the needs of many ‘wannabe migrants’ to the Western Bay of Plenty - both from around New Zealand and overseas - the Best of Tauranga website (aka BoTCom), has added a 5-page real estate guide.

‘Real Estate in the Western Bay – Where to Live,’ is found in the ‘Welcome to Tauranga’ section.

The real estate guide provides a quick, light and lively overview of the local real estate scene, complete with pictures, that doesn’t bury the reader in figures and charts, says Editor Grant Dyson.

“You won’t be bogged down with tables of sales information, and the like. But there is still lots of useful factual information - on the characteristics of different urban areas and towns, and general information on the different types of housing and prices. We also point to the amenities of the areas profiled. ”

“Obviously we hope that locals who’re thinking of moving house will find it useful too - not just newcomers.”

Our summary of the sub-region’s real estate scene begins in inner city Tauranga, heads across the water to Mount Maunganui and Papamoa, and then swings north through Bethlehem to the ‘mural town’ town of Katikati. Then we cruise through Tauranga’s southern suburbs towards the kiwifruit capital of Te Puke.

In line with our now well-established portal role, we also list some of the best web sites if you want to dig deeper – including the Real Estate Institute’s website that has official figures on sales for a given month, and QV - where you get a precise handle on property values, says Grant Dyson.

It’s no surprise that the Western Bay is still seeing plenty of in-migration, he says. According to the Tauranga City Council, the city has tripled in size in a little over 25 years. It may soon overtake Dunedin to become New Zealand’s 5th largest urban centre.

Anecdotally, large numbers of Britons are settling in the Western Bay, and that is borne out by the breakdown of visitors to the Best of Tauranga website. BoTCom is now read by people in more than 60 different countries, with not only Britons, but Americans, and Australians well represented.

It’s very pleasing to see that we seem to have a role in helping would-be immigrants, says Grant Dyson. Priority One, the Western Bay’s economic development organisation, has said the website has been a help in showcasing the Bay. Priority One has apparently recommended us as a site for would be migrants to check out. “We very much value such recommendations and support.”

The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce and councils have been other local organisations that have given more backing than we could’ve ever hoped for, he says.
