Vodafone launches free broadband with its home phone

New Zealanders can now choose to have a home phone with Vodafone.

Customers who take their existing home phone number to Vodafone and sign up to a 12 month contract for home phone and anytime national calling will receive Vodafone’s broadband 1 plan free for 12 months.

The new home phone plans with Vodafone can be set up without the customer even having to call the existing home phone provider, plus there’s no change of phone number and no transfer fees.

Chief Executive Russell Stanners says people want more choice when it comes to home phone and internet service providers as well as cheaper broadband.

“A lot of people feel they don’t really have a choice when it comes to who provides their home phone line and internet connection but now they do. As for well priced broadband, it doesn’t get any cheaper than free.”

The free 1GB broadband plan is enough for customers to download around 6,000 photos, more than 300 songs or 200,000 text based emails. However, customers can also upgrade to bigger plans and get a discount off standard rates with this offer.

Finally New Zealanders get to try broadband for free and the option to choose New Zealand’s favourite mobile provider for home phone services.
