DAE welcomes NZ Superannuation
Fund involvement in AIAL
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) today welcomed the NZ Superannuation Fund’s and Infratil's involvement as shareholders in Auckland International Airport (AIAL).
DAE Airports chief executive, Kjeld Binger said “We welcome their on-going involvement in AIAL, as we do all shareholders. We see this investment by NZ Superannuation Fund and Infratil as a sign of confidence in the company, its future and the value that we believe we can add.
“We have been meeting shareholders, including the NZ Superannuation Fund. Like all the shareholders we have met, they share our view as to the potential of the airport and the need for a sustainable long-term business model.
“DAE strongly believes it has significant value to add to the airport and can play a key role in the airport meeting its growth objectives.
“We note that the Superannuation Fund and Infratil, like the two city councils (Auckland and Manukau), have stressed they have open minds about our proposal. We would hope that all shareholders look at our proposal and judge it on its many merits.
“We continue to believe our proposal provides significant value to all shareholders - in terms of price and the expertise we bring to the airport company.
