Holiday Inn Wellington Scores Four Star Plus
Only Qualmark Four Star Plus rated hotel in the capital
Holiday Inn Wellington by Melview Developments has been awarded a four star plus rating after the independent Qualmark assessment process.
This places the recently opened 280-room property in the top tier of quality hotels in New Zealand – and as the best value four star plus offering in the capital.
With rates from just $175
per night, Holiday Inn Wellington General Manager Heather
Idoine-Riley believes the Qualmark endorsement underscores
the
high quality, value-conscious Holiday Inn
brand.
“We promoted ourselves as a mid scale property at opening, so to go through the rigorous Qualmark process, which is extremely detailed and demanding, and emerge as a four star plus is absolutely great news. We achieved a score of 81%, just 2% below the five star grading,” she said.
Heather attributes the high rating to both the superior guest leisure facilities – which include a heated 17 metre indoor pool, spa and sauna, making it the only hotel in the capital with this combination - and the boutique style guest rooms with beautiful fabrics, plush bed linen and fully equipped kitchens.
She added: “The Qualmark assessor was also impressed with many of the Holiday Inn brand innovations – such as Pillow Menus and Take Inn meal concepts – which add to the value and style of what we’re offering.
“We’ve got a fabulous
property here – thanks to Melview. It is beautifully
designed and carefully planned as a relaxing hub in the
heart of the city.
We’ve overlaid this with great
customer service, and the result has been acknowledged not
just by Qualmark but by our many repeat guests who in our
first six months have made Holiday Inn Wellington their
regular place to stay in Wellington.”
Qualmark Chief Executive Officer Geoff Penrose commented: ”I am delighted to congratulate Holiday Inn on their achievement and to welcome them to our family of Qualmark® licence holders. This hotel is a great addition to Wellington’s accommodation offerings.”
Melview Developments Director
of Hotels, Paul Evans said he was adamant the Holiday Inn
Wellington was not going to be another bland corporate
hotel.
“And this Qualmark four star plus rating
clearly recognises the new standards the Holiday Inn
Wellington has set ”, he
said.
