Specialty chemical and raw materials supplier Chemcolour Industries (NZ) Ltd has purchased the Australian textile, leather and paper division of its part-owner, Swiss chemical company Clariant International Ltd.

Announcing the purchase today, Chemcolour managing director Murray Nancekivell said the purchase of Clariant’s Sydney manufacturing site and TLP business fitted perfectly into Chemcolour’s strategy.

“We plan to optimise manufacturing to become a leading supplier of raw materials and specialty chemical products across a wide range of industries,” he said.

Clariant Australia TLP Division employs 35 staff at a manufacturing operation in Sydney, with marketing offices and applications development laboratories in Melbourne. All staff will be offered positions with the new company.
