New Life At Mercure Resort Queenstown
Refurbishment To Inject New Life Into Mercure Resort Queenstown
Mercure Resort Queenstown is set to improve its public spaces and spectacular views with a major refurbishment of the hotel lobby, bar and restaurants.
Renovations began this week to modernise the dcor and improve the layout to create a more contemporary and welcoming environment.
Guests entering the lobby will be met with a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Wakitipu and the Remarkables through majestic floor to ceiling windows. The lobby will be extended to create a larger, lighter space that will now incorporate the bar to make the most of the stunning vista. Open all day, the bar will become the central meeting place for guests to enjoy a great coffee, a refreshing beverage or to just soak up the relaxing atmosphere after a busy day.
The hotel's two restaurants will also both undergo a soft refurbishment to update interiors for a more modern, stylish setting to complement the fine a la carte menu and superb Central Otago wines. And for those early morning breakfasts, the majestic sunrise over Lake Wakitipu from the breakfast restaurant is a sight not to be missed.
General Manager Fraser McKenzie says the improvements will make for a more enjoyable, more memorable experience for guests.
"Mercure Resort is long established as having the most spectacular hotel views in Queenstown and the renovations will only make them better. However, we also have a lot more to offer. With our excellent position, wide range of resort facilities and the new and improved public areas, the hotel is a great option for conferences, team building retreats, weddings and other special events.
"Conference and incentive groups especially find the tranquility of the Southern Lakes region and the ambience of a lodge style hotel a great setting to inspire fresh ideas and enthusiasm and of course to celebrate!"
Due for completion in late October, the hotel will continue to offer full services to guests during the refurbishment period and disruption to guests will be kept to a minimum.
