SAS Institute Strengthens Channel

SAS Institute Strengthens Channel

New senior management position created for indirect business growth

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sydney, 27 September 2007

SAS, the leader in Business Intelligence, has announced the appointment of Janice Willemsen as Director, Alliances and Channels, for Australia and New Zealand.

She is based at SAS Institute Australia’s Sydney head office and reports directly to Managing Director, Gordon Clubb.

This newly created position reflects the company’s drive to aggressively increase its revenues and widen its customer base through its relationships with resellers, global alliances and implementation partners.

Janice Willemsen was previously with Hewlett-Packard as Alliances Director, South Pacific, having joined from a similar role with Mercury Interactive when that company was acquired by HP earlier this year. Her outstanding record at Mercury included significantly over-achieving her sales quotas through no fewer than 12 consecutive quarters.

Earlier, she spent four years with PeopleSoft; all in alliances and channel partner management positions in Australia, and Asia-Pacific including Japan.

Announcing the new Alliances and Channels position and Janice’s appointment to it, Gordon Clubb said, “I am very pleased to be able to welcome Janice to SAS. She joins us following eight very successful years of alliances and channel sales management with other major vendors and we are confident that she will be equally successful helping us grow our indirect business here.”

Willemsen earned her BComm at the University of Natal and a Post Graduate Marketing Management Degree at the University of South Africa.
