Merino Grower Investments Limited today announced their appointment of Sara Lunam as a Director of The New Zealand Merino Company.

Ms. Lunam is a consultant and advisor in strategic management, organisation performance improvement, change management and governance. She is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, a Director of New Zealand Post Limited and subsidiaries, a Trustee of the Pacific Business Trust and Chair of the World Netball Championships 2007.

With 20 years experience in primary sector industries and specific executive leadership experience in forestry, road, rail and maritime businesses in both New Zealand and Australia, Ms. Lunam is well equipped with the skills to represent grower interests and complement the present Board, says Chairman of Merino Grower Investments Limited, Allan Kane.

"Sara has strong marketing, strategic and corporate governance experience."

"We are confident that she will be an asset to The New Zealand Merino Company and the wider Merino industry as we continue to drive toward sustainability and differentiating our fibre globally," says Mr. Kane.

Ms. Lunam will replace Bob Brown on the Board and will commence her role in October.
