Genesis Energy welcomed the greater certainty for the electricity sector occasioned by the publication of the New Zealand Energy Strategy. The company is reviewing the New Zealand Energy Strategy and will factor its direction into its business planning in a similar vein to the Emissions Trading Scheme.
Murray Jackson, Chief Executive Genesis Energy, said the NZES made it clear New Zealand would need to make significant gains in energy efficiency.
"Genesis Energy is well prepared to help New Zealand meet this challenge through a range of successful energy efficiency programmes with customers and the public," he says.
