Her Business Networks Awards Attracting Attention
With only two weeks left for Northland women in enterprise to enter the Her Business Awards, Northland Coordinator Gaye Moore says she is happy with the interest the Awards have generated and the calibre of businesses which are in contention.
Moore believes the Her Business Networks Awards have caught the attention of a number of women entrepreneurs in Northland, partly because of a streamlined entry process and partly because submitting an entry into the Awards is a valuable exercise in its own right.
“Usually the last thing any business owner thinks about is entering a business excellence event, given the amount of work that is involved in preparing their entry. Women who run their own businesses are no different – they simply do not have time for additional form-filling or gratuitous self-promotion,” she says. “The whole idea of Her Business is to support women who, for a wide range of reasons, take an active role in business ownership. For many, it can be an unexpectedly stressful and at times lonely experience, so to be supported and encouraged by business mentors and women who have built successful organisations, is a massive help.”
Eligibility criteria and applications are available from the Northland Her Business Coordinator, Gaye Moore, QuickBooks Northland, 87 Otaika Road or download from the website www.gst-returns.co.nz/herbusiness. Applications close on 31st October. Entries should be posted to “The Judges, P O Box 6087, Otaika, Whangarei”.
