SLI Systems Steps Ahead Of Competition

SLI Systems Steps Ahead Of Competition With Enhanced Performance

New and Improved Site Search Solution Now Able to Index up to Five Million Documents and Products
SLI Systems, Inc. (www.sli-systems.com) today announced that it has enhanced the performance and functionality of its industry-leading hosted site search solution for Internet and e-commerce sites. The on-demand search services provider is now offering a stronger, more powerful Learning Search™ solution, able to index up to five million distinct documents and product listings – a benchmark that exceeds that of its closest competitors.

Restaurant supply superstore Instawares (http://www.instawares.com) recently implemented the new and improved Learning Search as a way to provide immediate and relevant search results to their customers, as well as continue to scale with their rapidly growing business. Since integrating the SLI Systems site search product in July, Instawares has seen a significant jump in the number of searches being conducted on its site, due to the fast delivery of results and an increase in customer feedback. For example, Learning Search takes favorable reviews from customers searching for restaurant and janitorial equipment and supplies and uses them to provide suggestions for similar products that will likely be of interest to others who search using the same keywords.

Before selecting Learning Search, Instawares used the standard offering that came with Google’s search appliance.

David Lu, CTO at Instawares said, “We quickly realized that we needed a more customized search solution that would allow our clients to drill down into information from our hundreds of thousands of products so they could find what they needed more quickly. Before working with SLI Systems, our search solution did not give us the ability to refine our customers’ search results.”

With its enhanced indexing capabilities, Learning Search offers organizations of any size a powerful platform for increasing their search capabilities and optimizing stored data. “In addition to making it easy to find products in our large inventory, we needed to make sure that the retrieval was immediate and that the results were prioritized and relevant, which makes for an exceptional online shopping experience,” Lu continued.

Instawares has a lean technical staff, and because Learning Search is hosted, the company was able to implement the product quickly —another key factor in choosing SLI Systems. “SLI’s fast implementation and phenomenal customer service not only make us feel important, but allow us to better serve our customers. Overall, the results of our relationship have been outstanding,” continued Lu.

Susan Aldrich, vice president for Patricia Seybold Group said, “Customers use search when buying, and they expect instantaneous search results. Retailers don’t realize how much information they will need to index. It’s no longer just your product catalog, it’s also customer reviews, ratings, behavioral data, technical information, and repair information. SLI’s new indexing capabilities give it the power to address stores with large assortments, complex selection criteria, and extensive libraries of related information.”

Dr. Shaun Ryan , CEO of SLI Systems said, “SLI is dedicated to providing our customers superior search products and stellar customer service. By enabling online retailers to offer site visitors a way to search millions of documents with sub-second retrieval times, we’re helping them foster greater customer loyalty while maintaining a competitive advantage – two critical measures of success in the e-commerce world.”
