Strategic Finance awarded sixth B1 credit rating

News Release
23 October 2007

Strategic Finance Limited awarded B1 credit rating for sixth straight year

Independent New Zealand credit rating agency, Axis Ratings Limited, has reaffirmed Strategic Finance Limited’s B1 credit rating.

It is the sixth straight year that Strategic Finance has recorded a B1 rating, meaning that it is rated as a ‘very good quality’ company and outperforms 76 per cent of its global industry group.

Chief Executive Kerry Finnigan said the result was a vote of confidence in the stability and future direction of Strategic Finance.

“Just as our investors have confidence in the management of our loan and investment portfolios so too did an external rating agency.

“This result is recognition of Strategic’s considerable experience in the property lending sector and the company’s stringent loan guidelines,” Mr Finnigan said.

The rating agency said that Strategic Finance is likely to enhance its strength by introducing new product lines and establishing a larger presence in the Australian market. The agency was confident that Strategic’s experienced board and able management team would ensure strong governance of the business going forward.

“In 2002, we led the way for New Zealand’s non-banking financial services sector by being the first finance company to voluntarily seek a credit rating.

“I am delighted with this result. We will continue to apply best practice policies and procedures in all aspects of our business,” Mr Finnigan said.
