Vodafone salutes the silliness of the season with a $1.5 million give away
Each year the silly season seems to start earlier and earlier and this year is no exception. But rather than try to turn back the tide, Vodafone is embracing the silliness.
Anyone who buys a new mobile from Vodafone in the lead up to Christmas will receive a Secret Santa gift. It might be a Frisbee, it might be an LCD TV or an Xbox 360, or a beach towel! We have $1.5 million worth of gifts to give away.
Customers get a sticker with a Secret Santa number and just need to log on to the website to enter their details. The gift will be delivered within ten working days.
“I always wanted to be a reindeer. but my nose wasn’t red in enough. Now that Christmas is almost upon us (y’know, in a few weeks or so) I thought it was high time we dusted off the antlers, broke out the eggnog and gave all our customers a jolly good ‘Ho ho ho’,” says Vodafone GM of Brand, Craig Herbison.
Of course, customers who are buying the mobile as a gift for someone else might want to take the sticker off the box before handing it over, otherwise the recipient could be a little peeved to find their Secret Santa gift has been taken.
“And let’s not forget there are only 415 shopping days left till Christmas 2008. It’s never too early to think about these things,” says Herbison.
