Gillette Serves Up Volleyball Challenge

Gillette Serves Up The Venus Breeze Volleyball Challenge

Downtown Auckland is more urban jungle than golden sand, tanned promo boys and glistening bodies but come Saturday December 8 the CBD will become a summer oasis.

To mark the launch of Gillette’s shave system, Venus Breeze, Gillette is kicking off the summer season with a female beach volleyball tournament - the Venus Breeze Volleyball Challenge. MCed by TV personality Carolyn Taylor, the inaugural tournament is expected to attract hundreds of spectators and participants to Te Wero Island in the Viaduct Harbour.

Leading up to the event Gillette will truck in tons of soft white sand, erect a grandstand for spectators, bring in the refreshments and ensure referees are all up to speed in anticipation of the first beach volleyball tournament the Viaduct has hosted.

Grab nine of your girlfriends and enter a team or sign up as an individual player. Free singlets, Gillette goodie bags and a shaving tent where hot Gillette lads will shave your legs may be temptation enough, but the winning team on the day will also win $5000 prize money.

Alicia Ohannessian, Public Relations Manager, Procter & Gamble Australia & New Zealand says Gillette is thrilled to be putting on the Venus Breeze Volleyball Challenge for Auckland girls.

“We encourage women of all ages to grab their friends and register for a day of fun and activity to mark the start of the Kiwi summer.”

The Venus Breeze is Gillette’s latest and easiest shave to date. It’s the only 2-in-1 razor with built-in Shave Gel Bars. No need for separate shave cream or soap, simply wetting the razor activates the Shave Gel Bars for a light lather and smooth glide. The Shave Gel Bars are designed to flex and respond to the contours of your body for a close shave even around tricky curves, and the fresh tropical scent means Venus Breeze is a ‘must have’ on the beach this summer.
