Departure Of On Holiday

Arrival Of Travel + Leisure Signals Departure Of On Holiday

Travel + Leisure magazine, a Fairfax Media title, is extending publication into New Zealand with a new Australia and New Zealand edition.

As a result of the expansion of Travel + Leisure, Fairfax Magazines have made a decision to discontinue publishing the travel title OnHoliday.

Travel + Leisure’s expansion to include more New Zealand focused editorial will give travellers access to one of the world’s best travel magazines, says Lynley Belton general manager of Fairfax Magazines.

“New Zealanders and Australians are some of the world’s most adventurous travellers, and there’s no doubt they love to read about the many exciting destinations they can visit,” Ms Belton said. “However, with Travel + Leisure providing them with a world-class product we have decided to concentrate our efforts on other publications.”

“With seven international editions, Travel + Leisure is known for some of the best travel writing and photography in the world,” Ms Belton said. “Unlike many other travel publications, it prides itself on never accepting free trips or accommodation, always sending in reviewers under cover and providing totally unbiased, reliable travel journalism.”

The first Australia + New Zealand edition of Travel + Leisure, will be the December 2007 issue.

The closure of OnHoliday had not resulted in any job losses, she said, as all OnHoliday staff worked on multiple titles and would remain with the company.
