ASIS congratulate David Horsburgh, CPP, PSP, PCI

The New Zealand Chapter of ASIS International today moved to congratulate Mr David Horsburgh, CPP, PSP, PCI.

Wellington based security consultant; Horsburgh gained his third professional security certification after attaining his Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) certification through ASIS International in November 2007. Horsburgh joins a very elite group of security professionals worldwide in attaining the three certifications offered by ASIS International. There is a very limited number of Security Professionals holding all three certifications and along with an Australian candidate is the first outside of the north American continent to achieve this status.

Horsburgh has earlier attained his CPP (Certified Protection Professional) and PSP (Physical Security Professional) in 200? And 2006 respectively. All three exams are offered through ASIS International and cover the three main disciplines of Security Management, Physical security measures and Investigations (PCI).

2007 was the first time that the Professional Certified Investigator examination has been administered outside of the North American continent.

The three professional certifications are administered via the Professional Certifications Board [PCB] of ASIS International. Candidates having attained the relevant qualification must maintain their learning through a rigorous recertification process, a minimum number of Continuing Professional Education points must be earned to retain their certification over a maximum of a three year or two year period.

ASIS International PCB has been awarded accreditation from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) – the United States representative and member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Obtaining the prestigious International Standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation required that the Society’s certification program be assessed, audited and undergo a rigorous review of its management and international testing standards.

• Threat Assessment and Personal Protection Specialist Carlton Ruffell PSP (CPP)
  


• Security Consultant and Specialist Investigator Chris Delaney (CPP) of Total Risk Management.
  


• Security Consultant Mark Nicholas (CPP), CFE, DipPol; of Protect Security Group.

ASIS International (NZ) has a membership of approximately 120. Of those 38 members hold one or more of the professional certifications offered by ASIS International.

ASIS NZ holds monthly meetings in Auckland and Wellington for continued education on Security and Investigation related matters.

ASIS International is the largest organisation (35,000 members) advancing the Security Profession worldwide, members are widely consulted with for all manner of Security, Crisis Management and Investigative advice. Membership is open to individuals as opposed to corporate bodies. Members are drawn from government, law enforcement as well as private industry.
