AA Pays Tribute To Sir Ed
“Today the AA has lost one of its oldest and longest serving Members,” says AA President, Noel Vaughan.
Sir Edmund Hillary was an AA Member for 54 years. He joined in 1954 when he returned from conquering Mt Everest and had been a member ever since. He was a guest of honour at the AA’s centenary celebrations in 2003.
“New Zealand has lost a great citizen today. Sir Edmund stood for so much that is good about this country and the AA offers its condolences to his many friends and his family.”
