Barfoot & Thompson teams up with the LG Northern Mystics netball team for the new ANZ Championship
Auckland and Northland real
estate firm Barfoot & Thompson is pleased to announce that
it is a major sponsor of the region’s first team to
compete in the newly formed ANZ netball championship, the LG
Northern Mystics.
Barfoot & Thompson already has a proud track record in supporting netball in the Auckland region through sponsorship of the Auckland Waitakere Diamonds and that relationship will continue alongside the new sponsorship of the Northern Mystics team in the international competition kicking off in April 2008.
Barfoot & Thompson Director Peter Thompson says, “As a leading Auckland and Northland real estate firm, we’re thrilled to be aligned with this new netball franchise for the ANZ Championship. This is the first professional competition for a woman’s team sport in New Zealand and we were keen to be involved from day one.”
“Real estate is an industry where women have considerable influence. Our own recently completed market research shows that women enjoy the process of looking at houses when they are in the market to buy, more than men do. Women are also often influential in selecting the salesperson when a couple wants to sell.”
“As a company, we’ve supported professional rugby through sponsorship of the Blues, and now it’s great to be able to support a professional women’s team sport.”
“We’re looking forward to the start of the competition and delighted that fans will have such a high quality line up of top netball players to represent them. The Northern Mystics’ home territory will be The Trusts Stadium in West Auckland and we encourage all netball fans to get along and support the home team for their inaugural game on April 6th.”
LG Northern Mystics CEO Mark Cameron says, “Barfoot & Thompson is an important supporter of netball in Auckland and we’re very pleased to welcome the company on board as a major sponsor.”
